В качестве объяснения причины в разговорном английском языке, мы чаще всего используем because (в разговорном английском 'cos'). So, также широко используется и может выражать тот же смысл. Сравните:

My mother's arrived, so I won't be able to meet you on Thursday after all.

В этом значении since носит формальный характер:

She didn't ride her motorbike because she wasn’t feeling fine, ('since' не типично для употребления в разговорном языке)

Seeing that, что используется в неформальной английской речи. Некоторые люди также используют seeing as в неформальной речи :

He just had to apologies, seeing that/as (так как) he knew he'd made a mistake.
